What Sponsorship Options Do You Have?
Spousal Sponsorship
According to Canadian immigration policy, you can consider someone to be your spouse or common-law partner if they have been living with you for at least one year.
Child Sponsorship
As per the recent guidelines of IRCC, any dependent below the age of 22 years is considered a child and is eligible for all the benefits set for child sponsorship. A child should not be married. In certain cases, you have a child of age 22 above, but with a physical or mental disability, its application can be considered for immigration. Parents/ Grandparents Sponsorship
An applicant can sponsor his/her parents and grandparents once settled in Canada and cleared the minimum residence requisite. There are certain considerations you need to make if you want to sponsor your parents and/or grandparents into Canada, which includes:
- You must provide them with financial aid if they are going to retire for a period between 3 to 10 years.
- Your parents and/or grandparents must be willing to make all efforts to support themselves.
